Career Transition Services
The OAAP offers support groups, workshops, seminars, and other assistance to lawyers or judges who are
interested in making job or career transitions.
Lawyers in Transition is a networking, educational, and support group featuring a guest speaker the
first Thursday of each month at Noon in the OAAP office at 520 SW Yamhill, Suite 1050, Portland.

The OAAP also periodically offers career workshops to assist lawyers, judges, and law students in
identifying satisfying job and career opportunities. Career workshops typically meet one evening
per week from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. for six consecutive weeks. In addition, the OAAP offers seminars
on career transition issues.

Planning for Retirement
Retirement workshops are offered throughout the year by the OAAP. Locations and times vary.
Retirement workshops typically meet one evening per week for four or five consecutive weeks.
The Professional Liability Fund has a free book entitled, Planning Ahead: A Guide to Protecting
Your Clients' Interests in the Event of Your Disability or Death that contains a checklist for
closing your office and other resources that can be used by lawyers and judges who are planning their
